Bride-  Amy Davis

Groom-  Joshua Clancy

Ceremony location:  First Christian Church, Bloomington, Indiana

Reception location: Alumni Hall- Indiana Memorial Union, Bloomington, IN

Honeymoon location: St. Lucia

Wedding date: September 24, 2011

When did you first meet: We met the summer of 2002. I was 15, he was 16.

Where did you first meet: We met in High School through a mutual group of friends.

When did you know you were going to marry him: After many break-ups and make-ups, getting back together the last time I knew he was the one for me.

How did he propose:

He proposed on IU’s football field! He said he wanted to go checkout their new scoreboard. After walking down to the field, he stopped me in the end zone and proposed! After I said “Yes!” our family and friends were cheering in the stands to congratulate us! I loved how Josh had our family and friends included on the occasion.

Favorite thing to do together: Going out to eat

Wedding colors: Cocoa, Tan, and Champagne

Number of guests: 250

Number in wedding party: 17

Wedding style: Traditional, Vintage

Beauty style: Vintage

Dress style: Vintage, Trumpet ivory satin dress. Strapless with sweetheart top.

Most unique wedding personalization:

Josh and I made escort cards that had pictures of different places in Bloomington and on IU’s campus. They were all places that Josh and I enjoyed or were a part of while at IU.

Something you did very different:

Our groomsmen wore tan tuxes instead of black. Also, our wedding party introductions were personalized and my brother pre-recorded them onto a CD.

Something you did very traditional:

Our ceremony and music were very traditional.

Something you would do all over again:

I would re-live our reception over and over again. It was such a great time and I loved having all of our close family and friends in the same room and all having a good time. Seeing both mine and Josh’s family together and having a great time was awesome.

Something you would never do again:

I would try and not step on my dress again. When coming up the stairs to meet Josh for pictures, I stepped on the front of my dress. Luckily, my mom had safety pins to try and hide it as best as we could! It wasn’t too big of a tear, but I was surprised with how well I held it together!

Most memorable wedding moment:

After being introduced at the reception, our wedding party and guests sang the IU fight song. It seriously sounded like we were at Assembly Hall and it gave me the chills. Definitely a moment I won’t ever forget!

Best wedding decision:

I think Josh and I will never regret having our wedding in Bloomington. Our best decision was to have our reception in Alumni Hall. The room was so pretty and with the centerpieces, table linens, and lighting, it all came together so nicely!

Best wedding overall advice:

Take everything in throughout the day. Before you know it, the day will be over. Try and stand back and take a look at what you worked so hard to put together. After months and months of planning, it is all over within hours. I made my mom and I step back at the reception and just take a look at all that we had worked so hard at planning. Seeing everything come together was such an awesome sight!
