Bride- Ashlee Kaiser

Groom- Andy Eckerle

Ceremony location:  St. John Lutheran Church, Aurora, IN

Reception location: Dearborn Country Club, Aurora, IN

Honeymoon location: Sandals Montego Bay, Montego Bay, Jamaica

Wedding date: November 9th, 2013

When did you first meet: February 18th, 2011

Where did you first meet: Harry’s Chocolate Shop at Purdue University

When did you know you were going to marry him: I can’t pinpoint an exact time.  I guess I just always knew he was perfect for me.  He makes me laugh, fits in perfect with my family, and always knows how to make me feel special!  Why wouldn’t I want to marry him?!

How did he propose: He planned a “Tour and Tasting” for us at Easley Winery on Saturday, Nov. 10th, 2011.  I thought that’s all that was going to happen, but he worked it out with the winery that they would take us into a room to wait until our tour was ready, and he did it there.  Then he had invited both of our families up to share the day with us to tour the winery and have dinner at the Rathskeller downtown Indianapolis that evening.  It was perfect!

Favorite thing to do together: Watching one of our favorite TV shows together in our new home.

Wedding colors: Gray and Yellow

Number of guests: 250

Number in wedding party: 6 Bridesmaids, 6 Groomsmen, 2 Flower Girls

Wedding Style: Modern

Beauty style:  Modern

Dress style: Classy and Chic

Most unique wedding personalization: Andy planned out my “Something Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue” with the help of our parents.

Something New: He got me a Tiffany Pearl necklace for me that I wore the day of the wedding.

Something Blue: He had my Dad and Step-Mom take care of this.  They got me a blue sapphire necklace that was wrapped around my bouquet.

Something Old: He was given his grandmother’s engagement ring, which he gave to me and put around my bouquet as well.

Something Borrow: He had my mom responsible for this, and she let me borrow an anklet of hers.

Something you did very different: We planned the wedding ourselves and did a LOT of DIY projects.  This seems to be changing to the norm, but we felt a great deal of accomplishment when it was all put together!

Something you did very traditional: We got married in the church that I grew up going to, that many of my family members had also been married in.

Something you would do all over again: Have the reception at a place that does so much for you to help out!  They set everything up.  They helped fill any request I ever had, and they cleaned up for us that night!! They were fabulous to work with!

Something you would never do again: Really I can’t think of anything.  There isn’t much we would change.  We helped each other stay on track while planning, and had great help from family and friends along the way.

Most memorable wedding moment: When we were lighting our Unity Candle, I leaned over and told Andy that I loved him.  Out of habit, he leaned in to say it too and give me a kiss.  I leaned back because it was too early to kiss during the ceremony.  All of our guests caught it and started laughing along with us!

Best wedding decision: Doing the “First Look” picture between Andy and me.  We were able to get so many pictures taken care of before the ceremony, and it also gave us some of our favorite pictures because we were able to enjoy that moment between the two of us.

Best wedding overall advice: Make the wedding of you and your soon-to-be’s dreams!  You only get to do this big day between the two of you once, so make it memorable for the two of you!  You won’t regret it!
