Bride-  Andrea Tolliver

Groom- Michael McGreevy

Ceremony location:  The Columns Ballroom in Greenwood, In

Reception location: Same

Honeymoon location: Negril Jamaica

WHEN: Wedding date: 9/28/13

When did you first meet: February 2007

Where did you first meet: Through mutual friends on face book

When did you know you were going to marry him: I knew I wanted to marry him in the summer or 2007 when he drove 12 hours each directions to see me for ONE day.

How did he propose: He proposed October 2011. We were preparing for a marathon relay with my mom and aunt. He was working on signs so we could cheer each other on throughout the race. Right when I got home from work he said he finished one but he wanted to see what I thought. I walked across the room and lifted up a poster that said, “will you marry me”. When I turned around he was down on his knee with a beautiful ring explaining how much he loved me and wanted us to be together forever.

Favorite thing to do together: We have very busy and opposite schedules so any minute we get together is amazing no matter what we are doing. Everything from running, watching football or cooking a meal together.

Wedding colors: Purple and Blue

Number of guests: 90

Number in wedding party: 6

Wedding Style: I like to think of my personal style as unique and I tried to incorporate that into the wedding.

Beauty style: Simple/Understated

Dress style: Strapless fitted top with waistline beading and a beautiful full skirt that looked like it was made or swirls.

Most unique wedding personalization: Our centerpieces were mason jars full of candy so each table had their own mini candy buffet.

Something you did very different: Our ceremony took place on a balcony in the ballroom.

Something you did very traditional: I wore white; my dad walked me down the aisle.

Something you would do all over again: I would do the whole thing over and over.

Something you would never do again: If I were to do it again I would’ve tried harder to not leave so many decisions until the last minute. For example, the week of the wedding we were still deciding on ceremony wording and our “Do not play list” for the DJ.

Most memorable wedding moment: I made a concerted effort to take in and enjoy every moment that I could. I still remember and play back every moment in my mind with a smile. Ask me again in five years are we’ll see which of those moments really stick.

Best wedding decision: Surrounding myself with people that really cared about me and were willing to help with all aspects of the wedding planning.  I always had at least 10 people to run ideas by or ask questions. Having the support of my friends and family throughout the process really helped make all the decision making easier.

Best wedding overall advice: The best advice I received was “as long as you and he show up, at the end of the day you will be married and that’s all that really matters; everything else is just extra.” It helped me keep things in perspective. Even at the end of the night as we reflected on everything that had happened we agreed that the best part is that we were finally married.
