BRIDE OF THE MONTH

Bride- Stephanie Marie Chambers

Groom- DaJuan Tyree Marshall

WHERE:

Ceremony location: Marott – Indianapolis, IN

Reception location: Pipers at the Marott

Honeymoon location: Gatlinburg, TN

WHEN:

Wedding date: 4/24/14

WHY:

When did you first meet?

We originally met in high school. We both attended the same high school; DaJuan was a year under Stephanie. Stephanie was the student athletic trainer working alongside the Arlington High School’s Boys track and football teams, which DaJuan Marshall participated.

Where did you first meet?

Eight years passed and they crossed paths again while DaJuan was working at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Castleton Square Mall. Stephanie persuaded DaJuan to go to lunch to catch up on old times. October 26, 2010 DaJuan took Stephanie to O’Charley’s on their first date.

The experience was captivating; full of laughs, good conversations, and a very polite debate about who was going to pick up the tab. DaJuan won and picked up the tab like a true gentleman.

When did you know you were going to marry him?

I’d say a little over two years into our relationship, I’d began thinking about my future looked like and couldn’t imagine it without DaJuan by my side.

How did he propose?

DaJuan proposed August 10, 2013 after my graduation from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN. DaJuan wanted to catch me at my highest moment of happiness and what better moment than after I reaped the benefits of all the hard work and sacrifice I’d put into obtaining my bachelor’s degree. DaJuan was anxious yet nervous to pop the question especially in front of an audience that included Stephanie’s Mother, Brother, Aunt and a great majority of Stephanie’s graduating class. It was a complete surprise that caught everyone off guard. After I said yes, everyone around us clapped and cheered at our moment of engagement. It’s was a day I will never forget!

Favorite thing to do together:

Our favorite thing to do is an evening of dinner and a movie whether that’s at home or a night on the town.

Best wedding overall advice:

1. Find a moment where the Bride and Groom can take a moment after the ceremony to have time to their selves to soak it all in.

2. Carefully choose your wedding party, it is very important! You are going to need the support.

3. Understand that things don’t always work according to plan. Have some flexibility.
