When did you first meet?

Zach and I first met in 2008. We were both in High School. I was a sophomore and he was a senior.

Where did you first meet?

Zach’s best friend Blair went to the same school and me and brought Zach to a Men’s State Soccer game. One of my best friends, Alex, and I ended up sitting right in front of them at the game. It was history from there.

When did you know you were going to marry him?

I think I always knew that I was going to marry him. Maybe not when I was a sophomore, but I definitely knew there was something special between us. I think that when we moved in together down in Kentucky while we were both in college was the moment that it really hit me… he wasn’t going to get rid of me…ha-ha!

How did he propose?

This engagement story is my favorite to tell. Zach had left me for the day, to spend time with my best friend Alyssa. Once he left, Alyssa told me that she had to show me something on the computer. When I opened the computer, there was a letter from Zach. The letter had a little message that reflected on our past years together along with a clue to where the next letter was. He sent me driving around all day long finding letters at some of the most sentimental places we have shared together (our first kiss, where he asked me to be his girlfriend, where we first met, where he fell in love with me etc.). When I finally got home, I received the final letter. He had laid out three different outfits and told me to choose one to wear and meet him at the melting pot at 9pm. Alyssa drove me to the melting pot, and when I walked into the back party room, all of our family and friends were sitting there. There were rose pedals scattered across all of the tables, and tea light candles were lit. I was in shock, and very confused. When I turned around, Zach came around the corner, and was immediately overcome with tears. He got down on one knee and said, “Tay, you know I love you with all my heart, and you have always known that you are the one for me. Will you marry me?” I will never forget that moment. I was crying and shaking my head yes, as all of our family and friends began to clap and cheer.

Most unique wedding personalization: My Tiffany Blue SHOES :)

Something you did very different: It’s becoming more and more popular, but we completely wrote our own vows. I am so beyond happy that we did. It was a very personal moment.

Something you did very traditional: We aren’t a very traditional couple, so I don’t think that anything was strictly traditional in our wedding.

Something you would do all over again: The Photo booth!!! It was a big hit!

Something you would never do again: Nothing! I enjoyed every aspect of our wedding. I’m a little biased, but it was perfect!

Most memorable wedding moment: Walking down the aisle. I kept it cool the whole day until I heard the processional music and saw Zach’s face. I lost it and actually ended up running down the aisle so I could hold him. My mom got mad at my dad because we walked so fast and my entrance was only like 5 seconds long!

Best wedding decision: Writing our own vows was probably something that I would consider our best wedding decision. It made the ceremony a lot more intimate and emotional. Everyone really enjoyed hearing how deep and strong our love is to one another. I really made the whole wedding a lot more personal.

Bride of the Month Best wedding overall advice: Take a second during the reception and go in a corner and take it all in with your husband. I was in awe as we sat back and looked out at how many people came to celebrate our love that day. It was an emotional moment for sure!
